Maintaining health and successfully alleviating illnesses in a sustainable manner are the main goals of Sri Lankan Ayurvedic doctor Kethakie De Silva-Hahn. She has been practicing at Brune Balance med & Spa at Gut Klostermühle since 2011. "I don't read medical records before a consultation so that I'm not influenced by previous diagnoses. I only assess my guests' clinical pictures by taking their pulse. But I'm certainly no clairvoyant! Ayurveda has nothing to do with esotericism."
Pulse diagnosis is at the heart of Ayurvedic medicine. This form of diagnosis gives her a comprehensive insight into the physical and mental condition of our guests. Ayurvedic medicine recognizes 28 different pulse regions. Nutrition is also one of the important building blocks in Ayurvedic teaching. After a comprehensive pulse diagnosis at Gut Klostermühle, each guest receives an individual nutrition plan tailored to their ailments and dosha classification, as well as tips for everyday life.

Nutrition is one of the essential components of Ayurvedic treatments. This is because Indian medicine believes that only those who eat according to their type can remain healthy and slim and live in harmony with their body. Which “type” you belong to is determined by your dosha. There are three types: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.
At Gut Klostermühle, you can not only have your dosha determined, but also choose your Ayurveda package from the extensive range of treatments on offer. This includes both an Ayurveda introductory package and intensive Panchakarma treatments.
